The transformation of the back of the house nears completion as composite decking with a proprietary finish is put down. Inside, meanwhile, painting is underway; and the living room’s fireplace mantel is modified to better fit the rest of the house. Also: installing a forced-air furnace and air-conditioning system; repairing damage to oak flooring caused by a leaky radiator.



This Old House’s mission is to demystify the home improvement process… More and to celebrate the fusion on old world craftsmanship and modern technology. Each season features two renovation projects. Project One traditionally consists of eighteen or more so episodes and is filmed in Massachusetts. Project Two is taped in a different region of the country to highlight the variety of American architectural styles and renovation issues. Additionally, the second project is generally located in a town with a mild climate where outdoor work can be undertaken in the winter months.
